Wild berry varieties are widely distributed in Canada and mainly used by the indigenous population as food. Gooseberries blackcurrant two tart berries with strong taste that to make preserves such jams, jellies, wine. Phenolic compounds fatty acids predominant bioactive metabolites present these berries. Recently, researchers more interested exploring fruits for functional properties benefit human health.
